sky diving

Sky diving on Cosmic Rage can be a super fun way to show off your skillsor accidentally splat yourself against the ground like the galaxy's most lifelike pancake.
To skydive, you will need either a parachute or a pair of wings. You will also need a way to get into the atmosphere, such as an aircraft or a pollution vehicle.

What to do:

  1. Launch into the atmosphere. The higher you go, the more time you will have while falling.

    1. Cycle your vehicle to the hostile environment.

      1. Type exit.

      2. You are now skydiving! Well, to be accurate, you are now falling out of the sky very fast, possibly while questioning your life choices.
During freefall, you will be shown something like this:
Altitude: 38.3 km Heading: southwest Speed: 65 m/s You are wobbling.
Altitude: This is how high above the ground you are. When you reach 0, you will either land or splat.
Heading: This is the direction you are facing. If the wind catches you and blows you off course, your heading may change, causing you to land somewhere else.
Speed: This is how fast you are falling. Ideally, you want to be under 30 m/s at the end of your dive.
Stability: This is how stable you are in the air. You should maintain stability as much as possible, as it affects how well you can slow yourself down.

        Using wings to skydive:

If you have wings, you control your descent using the wings command.
Wings fold: Fold your wings to dive faster.
Wings spread: Spread your wings to slow down quite quickly, but this can cause you to wobble.
Wings flap: Slow yourself down at the cost of stability.
Wings glide: Attempt to make yourself more stable.

        Using a parachute to skydive:

Much like with wings, there are a number of parachute commands you can use to affect your dive.
These can also be used if you have wings, but they perform very similar functions:
Position ball: Curl into a ball and dive faster.
Position arch: Spread yourself into an arch shape to increase stability while maintaining a faster descent.
Position spread: Attempt to slow yourself down.
Note: You also have the deploy command, which deploys your parachute and slows you down dramatically.

        While falling:

While you are falling, you can type look at any time to see the status of your fall, as well as where you are expected to land.
You can also type turn to try to turn yourself in a particular direction. If you've been blown off course, this lets you correct your heading.
