Mutiny (the mini game)
Intro
Have you ever wanted to pass the time with a little competition? Or maybe you need to decide who goes first in a challenge? You've heard of Rock Paper Scissors, right?
Well, we've got Mutiny, a simple contest of reflexes, cunning, and luck known across the Alliance worlds. Its a quick way to settle disputes, break a tie, or just share a laugh between missions.
Mutiny is played in character, and every race recognizes some version of it, though gestures and style may differ from system to system.
To play, simply type:
MUTINY
Then choose your champion. Your opponent responds in kind, and the outcome will automatically resolve.
THE SIGNS
Each player represents their chosen champion with a quick, theatrical motion:
- Weaponeer - The player mimes firing a starships weapons or shooting a gun.
- Engineer - The player mimes hitting something with a hammer.
- Pilot - The player mimes spinning an old pilots wheel.
- Mutineer - The player mimes stabbing with a knife.
- Captain - The player mimes sweeping a cap from their head like an old ships captain.
- Weaponeer beats Mutineer and Engineer, but loses to Captain and Pilot.
- Engineer beats Mutineer and Pilot, but loses to Captain and Weaponeer.
- Pilot beats Mutineer and Weaponeer, but loses to Captain and Engineer.
- Mutineer beats Captain, but loses to Weaponeer, Engineer, and Pilot.
- Captain beats Weaponeer, Engineer, and Pilot, but loses to Mutineer.
- If both players choose the same champion, the result is a tie.
- Matches resolve instantly, but feel free to play it up in roleplay. Dramatic flair is encouraged.
- Mutiny is an Alliance classic. Some people claim the game was invented aboard the first warp-capable ship after a real mutiny broke out.
