The Galactic Medical Corps
People of all races have been studying the Medical profession since before history was being written. As technology advanced, so did medical procedures. naturally, when humans achieved space flight and made an alliance with the dragons, plenty of human medical professionals launched themselves in to the study of dragons, and likewise with the dragons. Similarly with the other races, interested doctors launching themselves in to studies of other races' anatomy and how to fix it. Until recently, these doctors usually worked solo, only taking patients whom they knew how to treat. However, after several malpractice cases filed against various doctors, the senate decided to make the Galactic Medical Corps official. now, instead of doctors being basically self trained, they are encouraged to apply and go through the established training.
Things to consider before joining the Galactic medical corps.
Because there aren't a tun of mechanics for doctors in Cosmic Rage, a lot of what you end up doing is roleplay. If you do not like roleplay, the GMC is probably not a good choice for you.
What do I need to do to join the Galactic Medical Corps?
First you must have a profile. You can get more information about profiles by typing "Help profile." Once your profile has been approved, you can go to the Galactic Medical complex and map the application center. Use the computer there and answer the questions.
Your application will be reviewed and you will hear back from a member of the GMC as soon as possible.
What do people in the GMC get?
The GMC serves as a group of doctors and other medical professionals who treat any medical condition that a player wants to roleplay, and they also help as medics on the battlefield. They get a few odds and ends to make their job interesting such as cancel out trauma from revival, cure poison, and subtract stun time.
I've made it in to the GMC. What do all these ranks mean?
The ranking system is different from the other organizations in game currently because it is split into three parts. The lower end and the upper end of the ranking system always rename the same, but the middle section is where it changes, so pay close attention.
Trainee Doctor: At this point, you have just gotten into the organization and would likely be sitting in on medical procedures and learning from longer-standing members.
Doctor: You've got intimate knowledge of your own race's anatomy. You are able to treat major injuries and birth children of all races if you are knowledgeable enough and think you can handle things beyond your own race, though at this point, doctors are still learning what paths they may take. This is a time to do it all and see what you like.
At this point in the ranking system, a person in the organization must choose from one of the three paths to follow--combat medicine, non-combative medicine, or specialist. The ranks for combat and non-combat follow below.
Healers and Combat Healers: Healers have studied their own race's anatomy as well as the anatomy of other races. They can treat all major injuries. They also can birth children of all races. Healers may be called on to do health inspections, major surgeries, psychological sessions and assist scientifically in major investigations to name a few high-importance tasks, and they may fill in for specialists when needed. If a person has the Combat tag, it simply means that they are qualified to attend injured on the battlefield. Those without the combat tag may be better suited to in-hospital work.
People of this rank and above may do autopsies without supervision if they have shown themselves to be qualified to do so through supervised exams and reports.
General Practitioner and Battlefield Medic: Medics and practitioners can treat all major injuries and birth children from any race. If a person has the Battlefield tag, it means that they are usually to be found attached to combat units and treat the injured on the battlefield. Senior tag means that the person in question, in addition to their regular duties, also oversees the activity of the members ranked below senior, both of their chosen path and the other two paths.
If one selects the third path, one must choose what area of the medical field one wishes to specialize in. A few examples can be found in the ranks of the organization section of the info computer. Once the third path is chosen, the person stays in that position unless they are either demoted or promoted upward.
Once a path of study has been chosen, one cannot change the path they are on without being demoted to doctor. This is a measure in place to ensure the choice of path is not taken lightly and gives time to think on it.
The final ranks of the organizations are as follows, and it is theoretically possible to reach this position no matter which one of the three paths are chosen.
Orlanna: Second in command at the Galactic Medical Corps. There is only ever one Orlanna. They are normally responsible for most of the administrative duties, including applications, and performance reports.
Chief Medic: The chief is the very top of the Ladder. The chief has decision making capacity for the entire organization. They set policy and manage any administrative task that the Orlannas not capable of or not qualified for.
Both chief and Orlanna expected to be Physicians in their own right, and though it's uncommon, there are times when they will step in to work on a particularly complicated medical situation. Usually where genetics or DNA Analysis is needed, but sometimes with patients with particularly difficult medical problems.
long term care services and home inspections

- Take the child to the long term care services room at the galactic medical complex.
- type register
, and he or she will be taken care of by the nurses and nannies there until the parent or guardian returns. - Activities

If you are the parent of a missing child, you can go to this room and type retrieve to get them back.
If a child is reported to be abused or neglected, a case can be opened with the Judge Advocate Generals (JAG), and if asked, the GMC may accompany members of the military to the caregiver's home to do an inspection to collect evidence and/or ensure the child's safety.
